Tina Maurer

I have had the privilege of traveling to Kenya twice. My first trip to Africa involved helping to build churches and ministering to both children and adults. The hard-working, impoverished people we met displayed such incredible hospitality, love, grace, and thankfulness that I immediately fell in love with the place.

My second trip was a smaller medical mission, and it truly opened my eyes to the profound needs of the people there, as well as how fortunate and well-cared-for we are in comparison. Although I may not have any special skills or abilities, I’ve learned that God isn’t always looking for ability, but availability. There is so much work to be done, and I’m ready to step in wherever I’m needed.

With a heart full of love, I choose to direct much of it towards the needy and welcoming people of Africa. I am proud to serve on the board of the African Missions Project.
